Day 1: Cusco – Huaca Casi Pass – Thermal Waters Lares – Huacawasi

  • Departure from Cusco at 5:00 am by bus to Lares.
  • Visits to archaeological sites and markets in the Sacred Valley.
  • Stop in the province of Calca.
  • Ascent to the Huaca Casi pass and descent to the thermal baths of Lares.
  • Lunch and relaxation in the thermal pools.
  • Continuation to Huacawasi to camp.
Day 1: Cusco – Huaca Casi Pass – Thermal Waters Lares – Huacawasi

Day 2: Huacawasi – Abra de Ipsay – Patacancha

  • After breakfast, we will embark on a 4-hour hike to the Ipsay pass (4400m/14436f).
  • At the Ipsay pass, we will visit local families who are dedicated to agriculture and textile design inspired by the Andean gods.
  • We will continue our way to the village of Patacancha (3650m/11975f).
  • In Patacancha, we will set up camp for the night.
Day 2: Huacawasi – Abra de Ipsay – Patacancha

Day 3: Patacancha – Willoq – Pumamarca – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

  • We will visit several communities and indigenous villages, including Willoq, Pumamarca and Ollantaytambo.
  • Ollantaytambo is especially noteworthy, considered the last stronghold of the Incas.
  • From Ollantaytambo, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes (2050m/6726f).
  • Overnight in a hotel in Aguas Calientes.
Day 3: Patacancha – Willoq – Pumamarca – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

  • Breakfast and departure at 5:30 am.
  • Take a bus to Machu Picchu.
  • Guided tour of the citadel.
  • Free time to explore Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu.
  • Take a train back to Ollantaytambo.
  • Lunch and relax in the hot springs of Aguas Calientes.
  • Conclusion of the trek from Lares to Machu Picchu.
