Day 1: Cusco – Wayllabamba – Yuncachimpa

  • Early departure from Cusco to the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • Break in Ollantaytambo for breakfast (optional).
  • Official start of the Inca Trail at KM 82, registration formalities.
  • Crossing of the Urubamba River (2200 meters) and easy hike to Miskay.
  • Lunch by the river with information about Llactapata.
  • Continuation to Wayllabamba (3100 meters) and ascent to Yuncachimpa (3300 meters).
  • Overnight in tents with a view of the snowy La Veronica.
Day 1: Cusco – Wayllabamba – Yuncachimpa

Day 2: Yuncachimpa – Warmihuañusca – Chaquicocha

  • Free-Hike-Day, hike at your own pace with meetings during breaks.
  • Early trail through the Llulluchapampa valley (3850m).
  • 2 to 3 hour climb to Warmihuañusca (4200m), the most difficult part of the Inca Trail.
  • Steep descent to Pacaymayu river and Runkurakay pass (3050 meters).
  • Arrival at Chaquicocha camp (3650 meters) with breathtaking views of the mountains.
Day 2: Yuncachimpa – Warmihuañusca – Chaquicocha

Day 3: Chaquicocha – Phuyupatamarca – Wiñaywayna

  • Hike through the tropical forest of Wiñayhuayna with change in the ecosystem.
  • Gentle climb and panoramic view at the third pass (3700 meters) over the Urubamba Valley.
  • Visit Phuyupatamarka, “City above the clouds” (3600 meters), with well preserved Inca baths.
  • Pass through Inca tunnels and visit the ruins of Wiñaywayna “forever young” (2650 meters).
  • Last camp with comforts such as hot water and bottled drinks.
Day 3: Chaquicocha – Phuyupatamarca – Wiñaywayna

Day 4: Wiñayhuayna – Machupicchu

  • Early breakfast at 4:30 a.m. and hike equipped with torches to the Inti Punku (Sun Gate) to see the sunrise at Machupicchu.
  • Guided tour of the citadel of Machupicchu around 8 a.m. to understand the significance of the ancient buildings.
  • Free time to explore on your own (Inca Bridge, other buildings, or climb Huaynapicchu).
  • Return by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then return trip by train and bus to Cusco.
  • End of service.
Day 4: Wiñayhuayna – Machupicchu
